Plot of the HD Movie
After a long period of seven years, Yash Chopra comes back to associated with a motion picture about adoration and human relationships that can’t be obliged by fringes and nationalities. Both on-screen characters in the film – Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee – play Pakistani ladies and Shah Rukh Khan plays an Indian pilot.
A film that expects to scaffold the separation in the hearts of Indians and Pakistanis, Veer Zaara recounts the story of squadron leader Veer Pratap Singh (Shahrukh), a salvage pilot with the Indian Air Force. He is an unassuming man who gives without asking, who cherishes unconditionally and keeps no bias in his heart. One day, while on job, Veer meets Zaara Hayaat Khan (Preity), little girl of a Pakistani government official who has come to India to satisfy her surrogate mother’s desire to die. Zaara is stranded in view of a transport mischance and Veer, accurate to his inclination, helps her. The time Veer and Zaara forms an unusual enduring bond between them, a bond that blooms into unadulterated affection. In any case predetermination had something else in store for Veer and Zaara.
Twenty-two years after the fact, Veer is a man moping in Pakistani imprisons for more than two decades. This time he has not spoken a statement and used months and years in a state, lost in his remembrances. Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani), a Pakistani legal counselor is given Veer’s case. Saamiya is a romantic whose mission in life is to uphold equity and battle for ladies’ empowerment. Veer’s case is her first one, and has been intentionally given to her to deter her from being auspicious.
Veer’s case is by no degrees a simple case. It is the case of a man who hasn’t uttered an expression for more than twenty years and she needs to battle for him. Saamiya brings her opportunity with Veer and gradually he reacts. Furthermore when she comes to know his story, she is so profoundly moved that she chooses to battle for his equity despite seemingly insurmountable opposition…
Veer Zaara additionally stars Kiron Kher, Divya Dutta, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, Zohra Segal, S. M. Zaheer, Rushad Rana, Tom Alter and Gurdas Mann. The film has music by late maestro Madan Mohan, whose unused songs have been modified by his child for the melodies in the film.

•The character of Saamiya Siddiqui is based on Pakistani human rights activist and well-known lawyer Asma Jehangir.
•Amitabh Bachchan suggested Gurdas Mann to Yash Chopra, believing that Mann’s voice would best suit the “Lodi” song.
•The film was originally going to be called “Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum”, named after the song from Silsila, but Yash Chopra felt that “Veer-Zaara” went better with the epic mood of the film. However, a song in the film twisted the title and became “Yeh Hum Aa Gaye Hai Kahaan”.
•The role of Saamiya Siddiqui was originally intended for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but it didn’t work out.
•Hrithik Roshan’s favorite film, as stated in the DVD’s bonus features.
•The prison scenes were all shot in one day. Shah Rukh Khan had to wear a wig to portray the aged Veer in those scenes.
